- It has been a tough week for a 7-year-old who was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer, Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor.

Wyatt Pope began his first round of chemotherapy on Friday and has battled nausea since, but he is fighting like a warrior.

With the struggle has come love and support from his community.

From former Atlanta Brave Fred McGriff to our own FOX 5 Buck Lanford, photos to support the #WyWySTRONG campaign are popping up across social media platforms.

Wyatt really appreciates the prayers and photos comfort him.

“This young man and family have lightened up many faces throughout the years from wrestling mats to baseball diamonds, and I hope this fundraiser can serve as help,” Chris Maclafferty GoFund me Organizer posted.

The group has over 250 supporters. Click here to learn more.

Maclafferty met the Pope family through wrestling.

"All the boys are extremely talented, Wyatt was having a really successful season this year," said Maclafferty.

Coaches will be and running at Life University in Marietta on Sunday February 28. Proceeds will go to the Pope family. Learn more about the event here.
