Get the grapes! It's harvest time for north Georgia wineries

Local news, weather, and sports.

North Georgia's wine business continues to grow, as do the grapes that make it all possible.  And right now, it's harvest for wine country, which means local vineyards are very busy plucking those grapes from the vines!

There are many successful wineries located in North Georgia, and an easy way to see them is by taking a ride on the Georgia Wine Bus from VIP Southern Tours.  The tour takes guests to several of the area's most scenic vineyards, and includes plenty of taste-testing (yes, it's allowed on the bus!) and lunch.  One of the places often featured on the tour is Cleveland's The Cottage Vineyard & Winery, founded in 2012 by owners Jim and Sandra Penner.

Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken spent some time this morning at Cottage Vineyard & Winery and on-board the Georgia Wine Bus -- getting a first-hand look at the important harvest time.
