They say Atlanta is the "Hollywood of the South." So it makes sense that the next generation of movie stars is honing its skills right here in North Georgia.
Alpharetta's Atlanta Workshop Players is a non-profit acting studio that's been serving the area for more than 35 years. Creative director Lynn Stallings has worked as a performer, producer, director, and talent manager, and now helps guide young men and women (and adults, too) in their careers in film and television. AWP students have performed in shows such as "The Walking Dead," "Glee," and "The Vampire Diaries." Along with coaching, AWP also focuses on giving back, and has given out nearly 2,000 performing scholarships as well as helped raise money for important causes.
Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken spent the morning at Atlanta Workshop Players, getting an inside look on how the studio is making a difference in the lives of its students, and others.
