ATLANTA - What can you do with 85,000 cans of food? More like – what can’t you do?
Right now, sixteen incredible sculptures built entirely out of canned food are on display in the lobbies of 171, 201, and 271 17th Street (next to Atlantic Station), making up this year’s Canstruction Atlanta. The annual event benefits the Atlanta Community Food Bank, which will receive all of the canned food along with monetary donations from some of the teams of local designers who volunteered to build the can-structures. This year’s display includes a scene from the classic arcade game Galaga, a scarecrow in his field, the Atlanta city skyline, and a giant pair of lips in tribute to the late musician Prince. The 85,000 cans of food total about 80,000 pounds of food.
