Fulton County program helping special needs students find jobs

LIFE program

- The Fulton County school system is helping its special needs students get the training they need to find jobs once they graduate from high school.

The LIFE program, which stands for "learning independence for future employment," takes students out of the classroom and puts them in a work environment. Several Atlanta-area businesses are part of the program.

Teachers and paraprofessionals go with the students to their off-campus jobs. Teacher Catherine Wise told Good Day Atlanta's Ron Gant helping these young men and women is the best job in the world.

The three primary components of the program are customized career exploration, skill development and outcome of employment. Learn more about LIFE here.
