ATHENS, Ga. - Athens has long been known as place with a vibrant music scene – and this weekend, there will be plenty of music filling the streets of “The Classic City.”
This weekend is the 20th anniversary of the AthFest Music and Arts Festival, a three-day festival in downtown Athens featuring top musicians and artists. The festival helps raise funds and awareness for AthFest Educates, a non-profit supporting music and arts education for children. Headliners this year include Family and Friends, performing on the main stage Friday, Grammy-winning hip-hop group Arrested Development on Saturday, and musician Kishi Bashi on Sunday. Guests can also browse through the open-air Artist Market on Washington Street Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and take park in the annual Club Crawl.
Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spent the morning hanging out in Athens, getting a preview of this weekend’s festival.
