NEW ORLEANS, La. - This Palm Sunday prepare to witness television history as FOX prepares to retell the last hours of Jesus Christ's life in modern day time.
"The Passion," will be live from New Orleans, a city that many cast members believe has been "resurrected" creating a perfect match for "The Passion." The live musical event will feature contemporary popular songs performed by a stellar cast with New Orleans native, Tyler Perry, serving as the host and narrator.
Good Day Atlanta caught up with a few of the stars in New Orleans as they prepare to interpret historic biblical figures in front of thousands.
Latin Pop star Prince Royce, who portrays "Peter," feels that we can all relate to the disciple. A face familiar to FOX family music artist, Chris Daughtry plays the ultimate villan "Judas." Daughtry says that no matter what your background is, you are going to feel something. He says that the basis of the core is faith, hope and love.
Playing the lead in this production is singer, songwriter, and actor JenCarlos Canela, who is best known for his roles in telenovelas. JenCarlos recalls his humble beginnings in Haileah, Florida sharing with us that he started performing at age seven singing in the backyard of his home at his parents' anniversary party. He says that it was at that moment that he knew this is what he wanted to do for the rest of his life.
While the excitement surrounds the cast and live musical performances there is also a third element in anticipation of "The Passion," a giant cross will be carried through the streets of New Orleans with people lining up to see it.
