MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 5 Atlanta) - An invitation to a school dance is going viral on social media for all the wrong reasons.
The photo, which first appeared on a teenage girl's Instagram page Thursday, shows two students doing a Nazi salute.
The students are holding a sign, which appears to be an invitation to the Minnetonka High School's Valentine's Day dance.
The sign reads in part. "Sweethearts would be a Hit(ler) with you, and I could Nazi myself going with anyone else."
The girl captioned the photo with "I would like to state that I am not anti-semitic in any way. I hate all races equally."
Jeff Erikson, the principal at suburban Minnetonka High School, called the post "deeply offensive" in his note to parents.
The photo was quickly deleted after high school administrators got wind of it.
