Man shot during food mart robbery in Chamblee

- Police are looking for three robbers who stormed a Chamblee grocery store and shot the 60-year-old owner.

Investigators released surveillance images of two of the suspects Saturday night, hoping the public can identify the individuals.

Friday night shortly after 10 p.m. at the La Favorita grocery on Chamblee Dunwoody Road, police said two robbers stormed into the store and held up the owner's sister at gunpoint, trying to force her to open the register; police said the woman could not get the register open, and then one of the men jumped the counter to try to force it open.

Police said the owner rushed to the aid of his sister and one of the men fired at him.

The suspects did not take anything and fled in a red sedan.

Officers said the owner was shot in the arm and shrapnel hit him in the stomach. As of Saturday night, he was doing well in the hospital.
