- UPDATE: The missing teens have been found. Advisory canceled.

Authorities are searching for a 13-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy who went missing in Jackson County. Early Thursday morning, officials issued a Child Abduction Advisory regarding the case.

Madison County Sheriff's Office said they are searching for Heather Nicole Barton, 13, and Van Oakley Barton, 14, who were both last seen on July 30 in the 400 block of Willis Glens Road in Hull, Georgia.

Investigators believe they may be in the company of 31-year-old Salvador Chavez Rosales. His relationship to the children was not immediately known. Deputies described him as being 5’5” tall, weighing about 180 pounds, brown eyes, and short black hair. He was last seen wearing a red button-up shirt and red shorts.

They may be traveling in a white Honda Accord 4-door sedan or a 2004 to 2009 Cadillac SUV SRX.

Heather is described by authorities as being 5’4” tall, weighing about 120 pounds, with hazel eyes, and brown hair. She was last seen wearing a dark-colored hoodie, red pants or blue jeans, white shirt, and a brown sweater.

Van is described by authorities as being 5’10” tall, weighing 140 pounds, with hazel eyes, and short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, dark blue gym shorts, and blue jeans brown sweater.

The full details surrounding this incident have not yet been released by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. In addition, photos were not available.

This is not a Levi’s Call, Georgia’s Amber Alert system, but authorities do want to get the word out regarding this incident.

Anyone who sees them should call 911 immediately.
