Atlanta Heart Walk 2015: Photos and Recap

The 2015 Atlanta Heart Walk was held on September 26. The mild but rainy Saturday event hosted an estimated 6,000 to 7,000 attendees, out of more than 16,000 registered participants, who despite the weather walked the one-mile or 5K route through Centennial Olympic Park. Though participation was lower than expected due to Mother Nature, the event was an overall success, raising $2,565,385--more than $65,000 over goal!  

In addition to raising money, the Metro Atlanta Heart Walk is also meant to raise awareness. It encourages people to become more physically active and employers to be catalysts for change in creating a healthier culture within the work environment. Several companies joined the event, including corporate sponsors Delta, Emory Healthcare, and UnitedHealthcare.

FOX 5 was also a corporate sponsor of the Heart Walk. Our own Russ Spencer, Lisa Rayam, Karen Graham, Deidra Dukes, Buck Lanford, Cody Chaffins, Claire Simms, David Chandley, Tom Haynes and Cynne Simpson all joined in the walk and festivities of the day.
