Price tag for new Falcons stadium: $1.4 billion

The Georgia World Center Congress Authority Board members approved a $200 million dollar budget increase for the new Falcons stadium. The new price tag: $1.4 billion.

The Falcons say a majority of the increase is due to an increase in construction costs. The latest numbers include just over $1 billion for site work, foundation and building costs. More than $300 million will go towards "soft costs."

The Falcons will foot the majority of the $1.4 billion bill, with $200 million coming from a motel/hotel tax.

One authority board member expressed concern during Tuesday's meeting that the new budget would affect fans and the personal seating license program.
