ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - Freshman Mackenzie Engram scored 16 points and No. 22 Georgia held off No. 10 Texas A&M 54-51 on Thursday night to deny the Aggies another comeback win in the SEC.
The Aggies trailed at halftime in each of their four SEC wins, and they staged another comeback after trailing 27-21 at halftime. Texas A&M took its last lead at 42-41.
Jordan Jones, who had 11 points, missed a last-second 3-pointer for Texas A&M (16-4, 4-2 Southeastern Conference) that would have tied it. Courtney Walker scored 12 points and Courtney Williams had 11 for the Aggies.
Marjorie Butler had 11 points for Georgia (17-3, 5-2 SEC), including two free throws with 9.7 seconds remaining.
Georgia earned its first win in five tries all-time against the Aggies.
