A deadline has come and gone to either indict five teens suspected in playground rape case in Brooklyn -- or release them.
Prosecutors say they need more time to investigate the complicated case, so the boys have been released.
A 17-year-old remains in custody for an unrelated assault.
Te boys, aged 14 to 17, are accused of raping an 18-year-old woman in a Brownsville playground after pulling a gun on her father.
As the investigation grew questions emerged.
No gun has been found and neither the girl nor the father could identify any suspects.
The lawyers for the boys say cell phone video shows the girl laughing and smiling.
District Attorney Ken Thompson says his office is determined to get to the truth.
