FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) - The Atlanta Falcons' new offensive coordinator says he can't wait to work with quarterback Matt Ryan.
Kyle Shanahan held his first session with the Atlanta media on Tuesday. He says the job of putting in a new offense should be a lot easier since he's got a franchise quarterback to build around.
Shanahan says he's still evaluating personnel along with the rest of Dan Quinn's new coaching staff. But the son of longtime NFL coach Mike Shanahan says he's confident that Ryan will fit in with whatever he wants to do.
New defensive coordinator Richard Smith says it's important that Atlanta figure out ways to get more pressure on opposing quarterbacks. That's been a major problem.
Smith also says he won't mind if Quinn decides to call the defensive signals.
