APPLING, Ga. (AP) - Authorities in Columbia and McDuffie counties are seeking the driver who crashed a stolen pickup truck into the entrance of a Walgreens drug store.

The Augusta Chronicle reports Columbia County sheriff's deputies were called to the store at about 4:20 a.m. Friday when a Ford truck smashed through the front and left. Nothing was taken from the store.

Columbia County Sheriff's Capt. Steve Morris says a deputy spotted the truck about 30 minutes later and the driver fled onto Interstate 20. Eventually the driver pulled over and abandoned the truck, running into some woods in neighboring McDuffie County.

Authorities were still searching for the driver Friday afternoon.

Morris says the truck had been stolen from a body shop in the county where it was being repaired.
