Kitten thrown from car doing better, playing

April recovering

- A tiny kitten that was tossed from a car in March is doing much better at the SPCA Suncoast.

"April" was anemic, full of fleas, dehydrated, and had pneumonia, a respiratory infection, and a corneal ulcer in her left eye. One of her eyes has since cleared up, but the other is still causing rescuers some concern.

Her pneumonia is gone though, and her respiratory infection continues to be treated.

Shelter officials said many people have donated to help treat April. She's not available for adoption or fostering just yet, but you can keep up with her progress on the SPCA Suncoast Facebook page.

She was named April because April is "Prevention of Cruelty to Animals" month. She was three-weeks-old when she was found by a Good Samaritan who rescued her after seeing her being tossed from a car.
