NEWS

PHOTOJOURNALIST
The Photojournalist shoots video audio and stills in the field, newsroom, and studio; gathers information and interviews in the field; shoots live remote as assigned.  Candidate will operate audio, video, and microwave equipment for live remote broadcasts.  This position is also responsible for editing news stories on deadline in the field and in the newsroom.  Position must contribute to station social media channels with information, stills and video.  

Candidate must have skills in video photography and editing on deadlines, exemplary driving record, communicate clearly and deal effectively/politely with the public, public officials and staff.  Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.  A Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university is preferred.  Three years of experience as a photojournalist or equivalent in the news department of a commercial television station required.  The ability to write and produce packaged reports for air and web is a plus.

EDITOR
The Editor uses raw material to prepare video sequences for publication during newscasts and on digital platforms. Position works closely with our digital team and Producers to help identify strong video content for both mediums.  Position must communicate any discrepancies between written scripts and edited stories.  Works to identify and prepare compelling video content for publication on digital and social media platforms, prepare file video for use in the field, edit special reports for sweeps periods, and help intake coordinator(s) to troubleshoot newscast rundowns.  Assists video coordinator by taking in feeds, restoring video, and making sure all elements in a rundown are online before deadline, and serves as video coordinator for newscasts as needed. 

Candidates must be able to work under daily deadline pressure.  Applicants must be familiar with social media and clipping elements for use in those channels.  Candidates must have good organizational skills, and be an effective communicator.  A Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university preferred.  Two years of experience at a commercial television station, as a news video editor required.

SOCIAL MEDIA AND ENGAGEMENT PRODUCER
The Social Media and Engagement Producer is responsible for coordinating and creating content for the station’s social media efforts including engaging audiences, interacting with communities and increasing brand awareness.  This position will create compelling and engaging social and digital stories daily and present digital stories and social media content on television. Gather social, news and feature content in the field.  Actively engage in online communities and blogs to promote FOX 5 Atlanta, the station’s talent and website. Serve as a social media leader for the station, training staff on best practices for creation and publication of social media content, and embedding a social mentality into our culture. 

Candidate must show excellent broadcast, web and social writing, handle multiple demands and competing priorities simultaneously in a strict deadline-oriented environment and be an effective communicator.  A Bachelor’s degree preferred.   One to three (1-3) years of previous on-camera presentation experience required. 


SALES

ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE
The Account Executive is responsible for maximizing share on established television and digital accounts as well as developing new accounts by converting marketing dollars from competitive TV stations and alternative advertising platforms.  Candidate will service established agency accounts as directed by sales management, and establish direct client contact while maintaining cooperative relationships with the agencies.  Position will develop and present in-depth multi-screen platform sales and research presentations and generate frequent written correspondence such as pre/post buy letters. They will provide the Local Sales Manager with weekly pending, monthly posting, and quarterly forecasting reports. 

This position requires a strong understanding of digital platforms and a proven track record of successful digital sales.  AE must have the ability to work under daily deadline pressure with attention to detail, be self-motivated and work as part of a team.  Candidate must also have strong creative, organizational, planning and prospecting skills.  AE must be able to communicate effectively/politely with co-workers and clients.  Interviewees must have a thorough knowledge of television ratings and research as it relates Nielsen and Rentrak data.  Position requires a valid driver’s license and transportation.  A Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university in a related field preferred.  A minimum of three years of experience in broadcast television and digital platform sales required.

ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE
Established in 2001, Fox Stations Sales is the National Sales Organization for the Fox owned and operated television stations which generate 40% of the O&O station revenues. A division of 21st Century Fox, formerly NewsCorp, FSS has Sales offices located in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Dallas, Atlanta, Detroit, Miami, Seattle, Minneapolis and Boston. 
RESPONSIBILITIES:   National sales for 17 spot television markets with 28 TV stations; oversee all schedules throughout the flights; work directly with ad agencies and clients to increase station revenue and shares through growing core business, sales of sports and specials, internet and new business development.
REQUIREMENTS:   2-3 years of successful TV advertising sales experience preferred; college degree preferred; knowledge of NSI ratings, MRI and Rentrak research resources; familiarity with Wide Orbit applications is a plus; strong PC skills:  Excel and Word; ability to work and thrive in a fast paced environment; positive attitude. SALES ASSISTANT 
Established in 2001, Fox Stations Sales (FSS) is the national sales organization for the Fox owned and operated television stations group representing 17 Fox, 10 My Net and 1 independent station (s).
FSS is part of FTS (Fox Television Stations, Inc.) which is a division of 21st Century Fox, formerly NewsCorp, with Sales offices located in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Boston, Dallas, Atlanta, Detroit, Miami, Seattle, Minneapolis and Charlotte. The Fox Television Station group is the largest revenue producing station group in the country. FSS offers a premier in-house training program for accepted employees who wish to pursue a career in Sales, beyond the assistant level.
RESPONSIBILITIES:    Primary responsibilities are to assist 2 or 3 Account Executives in the Sales Department; responsible for maintaining account files, processing orders, revisions and cancellations; act as a liaison between Account Executives, agency buyers, and clients; filing, answering phones, and general administrative work; other duties as assigned.  
REQUIREMENTS:       
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel; Strong analytical skills, able to work well under pressure, detailed oriented, good problem solving skills.  Knowledge of Wide Orbit software helpful.
